Some People I’m Not

It turns out that, despite my mother’s assurances, I am not an entirely special snowflake.

Or perhaps it’s that the name Holly Painter is imbued with too much awesome creativity for one person to manage.

In any case, there is another poet called Holly Painter, also North American, also my age, and also reasonably similar enough looking to give my own parents pause when viewing her spoken word youtube videos.

And if my own parents were confused, then what hope is there for the rest of you?
