Holly Painter is a poet and writer from southeast Michigan. She lives in South Burlington, Vermont and teaches writing and literature at the University of Vermont.
Holly's first book, Excerpts from a Natural History, is a work of poetry, philosophy, counterfactual history, marginalia, and ill-fated love.

Holly's fiction, poetry, and essays have also been published in literary journals in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore, and the UK and nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Holly's current projects include a non-fiction book on obsolete jobs and a poetry book based on cryptic crosswords.
